God often calls ordinary people who love Him to do His work on earth. The Revive Our Hearts team consists of such a group of women who devote their time and talents on a voluntary basis to spread the message of personal revival and biblical womanhood.
Retha has been happily married since 1985, serving as a homemaker and mother of three children. She is passionate about leading women to spiritual maturity and a holy lifestyle. She has led women’s Bible study since 1990 and served as a spiritual leader at women’s events. At True Woman ’14, she sensed the Lord calling her to be a Revive Our Hearts Ambassador. Her dream is to reach all South African women from different cultures and backgrounds with the message of biblical womanhood.
Marisa Badenhorst has been involved in woman’s ministry for many years in various capacities. After attending True Woman ’14 Conference in Indianapolis, USA, the Lord led her to become part of Revive Our Hearts South Africa. She firmly believes that the message of biblical womanhood and personal revival can help women with the many challenges in life and can lead them to freedom, fulness and fruitfulness. Therefore she aims to spread this message in various ways, especially in discipling groups. Marisa embraces her calling of being a wife and a mother. She is married to Willem, a pastor, and together they serve in their local church. They delight in their adult children and spend as much time as possible with them.
Carin joined the ROH team in August 2019 and currently manage the social media and do the layout of the monthly newsletter. She considers it a great privilege and joy to be part of the team. She believes in the True Woman message, namely calling women to Biblical womanhood and the purpose to which God has called us as women, wives and mothers Carin is married to John and together they have three teenage children.
Inge is married to Berto and mom of three beautiful children, two teenage girls and a younger son. She has a heart for woman’s Bible Study Groups and is excited to be able to be part of this Women’s Ministry Group. Inge loves to help where she is needed and excited to see where God wants to use her to spread His message of love, forgiveness and grace and wants to encourage other women with His Truth.
Corné has been in full-time ministry since 2000. Her passion is to reach out to women and equip them to cope with the challenges they face in life by providing comfort and hope. Most of all to show them our Messiah’s love, forgiveness and mercy. Corné is single and an aunt/grandmom to her two sisters’ five children
Jackie is married to Deon since 2004 and together they raise three children. She loves the ministry of Revive Our Hearts and enjoys learning, growing and teaching from God’s Word.
Mercia believes that attending her first True Woman ’14 conference in Indianapolis was no coincidence. She truly believes that God called her to be there and to become involved in establishing Revive Our Hearts South Africa. As a devoted wife and mother, she serves with passion and love. Mercia believes that she has a responsibility to leave a legacy of faith, by discipling women in the Word and ways of God, and modeling a life of fruitful womanhood for the next generation.
Wilmie has been married to Bernard since 2006 and is a stay-at-home mom of two in the picturesque town of George on the Southern Coast of South Africa. She was introduced to the teaching of Revive Our Hearts four years ago and since that day it is her greatest joy to share with others how God has changed her heart through the Word and discipleship on biblical womanhood and revival. Her passion is to gather groups of women, young and old, in her home and share about God’s redemptive power and the importance of discipleship among women. She also enjoys coffee, photography, journalling, music in all its forms, and the pursuit of creating a life-giving home for family and friends.
I obtained a BSc Physiology at the University of Pretoria, with the possible aim on research or education, but after graduating I ventured on another path. For the next 15 years I fulfilled another passion of mine by working with animals at a local Veterinarian Practice and I discovered a second spiritual home in Mozambique, where we supported local congregations, helped plant new churches, and shared the gospel in fun filled ways with the local children. I am married to Dawie and we have 3 beautiful little girls whom have kept me very busy for the last 6 years. I recently joined ROH South Africa as Office Administrator and I am excited to see how this ministry is going to grow and reach the hearts of many women, bringing us all ever closer to the heart of God and His will for our lives.
Hi, I’m Theresa. I grew up in a warm, Christ-centered home and gave my heart to Jesus when I was thirteen. But it wasn’t until I married my husband, Andre, in 1994, that my walk with the Lord deepened in ways I never expected. Over the years, we’ve followed where God has led—whether it was serving in Mozambique, Qatar, or Oman. Each place stretched us, shaped us, and reminded us that God often places us where we need Him most, so His glory can shine through our weakness.
One of the most transformative seasons of my life came during my journey through cancer. It was then that I discovered Revive Our Hearts. Through this ministry, God reminded me of His truth, His faithfulness, and the hope we have in Him—especially in our hardest moments. A constant heartbeat of truth is how I would describe the ministry.
Today, my heart beats for the Gospel. I long to see Jesus heal the brokenhearted, set captives free, and bring beauty from ashes—just as He’s done in my own life (Isaiah 61).
Duduzile grew up in a Christian home, and as she was growing up, her grandfather used to repeat to her: “For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Savior, who desires all men to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth” (1 Tim. 2:3–4). She has been married since 2006, and they are blessed with four beautiful children. Her heart is drawn to the establishment of concrete teachings and support for women to understand who they are in Christ and that Jesus is the Lord of Lords and the King of Kings. She wants to be used by God—to be His vessel to the glory of His name.
Cecelia has been married to her husband Johann for over four decades and is the mother of three and grandmother of six. Her life bears testimony to God’s restoring power, having walked a long road marked by deep valleys and profound encounters with grace. Throughout her life, Cecelia has been profoundly moved by the influence of older women of faith and how their lives impacted generations. This awareness has shaped her own calling to disciple and mentor women, offering encouragement grounded in hard-won truth.
In 2019, Cecelia was introduced to Revive Our Hearts through the True Woman 101 Bible study. The teachings stirred a sense of belonging, and she was drawn to the Christ-exalting truth and reverence for God’s Word found in every ROH resource. Cecelia loves nature, geography and geology, beautiful books, and quiet mornings with Scripture. Her life continues to echo her 1998 promise: praise will be the offering that I bring You for the rest of my life.
